FAQ
Questions people ask
before they reach out.
No sales pitch here either — just the answers that usually come up before the first conversation.
Do you guarantee a specific result?
No. No one can honestly promise a specific settlement, penalty reduction, or dollar amount before reviewing your full record. We will tell you what is realistic once we can see the facts.
Are you affiliated with the IRS?
No. We are an independent tax service. We are not the IRS, we do not work for the IRS, and we are not affiliated with any government agency.
Who actually does the work on my case?
Preparation and cleanup work is handled by trained staff. Anything requiring representation before the IRS or a state agency is handled or supervised by a licensed Enrolled Agent or CPA. You will know who that is before work starts. We are not a law firm and do not provide legal representation or legal advice. See why us for more.
What does the first conversation involve?
You tell us what is going on — a notice, missing returns, a collection letter, or just a general mess — and we tell you what we need to see next and roughly what the path forward looks like. See cost & consultation for details.
How much does this cost?
It depends on the scope of the work, so we do not publish a flat number. Fees are quoted in writing after we understand what needs to happen, before any billable work begins.
I have not filed in years. How bad is that, really?
Usually less catastrophic than it feels, and rarely a reason to wait longer. The first step is figuring out exactly which years and what records exist, then filing in a sensible order. Read more in unfiled returns.
Can you help with a levy, lien, or wage garnishment?
Collection activity is time-sensitive, and the right response depends on your notice and situation. Tell us the details as soon as you reach out so it can be prioritized appropriately.
Do you handle business taxes, not just personal?
Yes. Sole-proprietor and business filings, payroll and bookkeeping cleanup, and business collection matters are all in scope. See what we fix.
What if I cannot pay what I owe?
There are usually more options than people expect — payment plans, penalty relief, and other resolutions depending on your situation. That conversation starts with an honest look at what is actually owed.
Is my information safe if I email you?
Please avoid sending Social Security numbers, bank details, or full tax records over ordinary email. We will provide secure instructions for sharing documents once we are working together. See our privacy page.
